ID VIP Team’s mandate is to make the magic of original music available and affordable for the masses while supporting musicians in their own individual career paths. Through our efforts we are creating gainful employment for unsigned musicians in the music industry. We are accomplishing this goal by creating opportunities for musicians to gain professional skill sets in the industry through contract work. We are all constantly learning under a mentor and training as a mentor at every event to ensure we foster the development of practical skills that can be taken into the workplace of the music industry.

As part of our process, we are making every effort to develop a level of professionalism within our organization and set a standard for each position that will be respected by the industry. As we expand into other market areas please note that these rates may not apply and you will need to confirm rates for other market areas. Here are the positions available, duties and responsibilities and the standardized pay structures for SELF EMPLOYED CONTRACT work available in Alberta effective March 1, 2013:

Sound Technician – Assistant: Pay Rate: $10/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • Entry level position for Sound Technician Program
  • No experience required
  • Responsible for assisting with loading, unloading, set-up and tear down of all gear for events.
  • Damaged gear will result in a three (3) month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) events logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 10 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 6 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test at any time

positions and pay 4Sound Technician – DJ Level I: Pay Rate: $15/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • Entry level position for Sound Technician Program
  • Basic DJ experience required including standard plug & play performance
  • Responsible for assisting with loading, unloading, set-up and tear down of all gear for events.
  • Must be able to set-up standard Essential, Essential Plus & Elite packages.
  • Damaged gear will result in a three (3) month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) events logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 10 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 6 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test at any time

Sound Technician – DJ Level II: Pay Rate: $20/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • DJ experience required including basic beat matching and all age event play list development
  • Responsible for all loading, unloading, set-up and tear down of all gear for events.
  • Must be able to set-up standard Essential, Essential Plus & Elite packages including live sound.
  • Must be proficient on basic live sound for simple acoustic sets.
  • Mandatory Drivers License Class 5 with a clean abstract. Can not be on the Graduated Drivers Licensing Program.
  • Damaged gear will result in a nine (9) month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) events logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 5 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 15 logged events

Sound Technician – DJ Level III: Pay Rate: $25/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • Advanced DJ experience required including large event format and basic production knowledge
  • Responsible for managing and training on all loading, unloading, set-up and tear down of all gear for events.
  • Must be able to set-up and trouble shoot all packages including live sound and video.
  • Must be proficient on live sound for all stage show formats.
  • Establishes event staffing budgets and event time hour presets for each position
  • Mandatory Drivers License Class 5 with a clean abstract. Can not be on the Graduated Drivers Licensing Program.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 12 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) events logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 5 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 25 logged events

Stage Manager: Pay Rate: $30/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • Advanced stage event experience required including large stage event format and stage event production knowledge with a minimum 15 events logged
  • Responsible for managing and training on all stage event production activities
  • Must be proficient on live sound for all stage show formats.
  • Responsible for establishing set times, roster and managing all stage transitions
  • Establishes event staffing budgets and event time hour presets for each position
  • Mandatory Drivers License Class 5 with a clean abstract. Can not be on the Graduated Drivers Licensing Program.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 12 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases or must be paid for out of pocket.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) events logged
  • Penalty of 2 hours of pay for each 5 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 25 logged events

positiona and pay 2Event Manager: Pay Rate: $40/hour X billable hours preset per event

  • Advanced event experience required including large stage event format and event production knowledge with a minimum 30 events logged
  • Responsible for managing and training on all event production activities
  • Must be proficient on live sound for all stage show formats.
  • Responsible for managing all set times, roster and managing all stage transitions
  • Establishes all event budgets, staffing budgets and equipment budgets
  • Mandatory Drivers License Class 5 with a clean abstract. Can not be on the Graduated Drivers Licensing Program.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 12 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases or must be paid for out of pocket.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every fifteen (15) events logged
  • Penalty of 3 hours of pay for each 5 minutes late for an event (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • A poor performance review will result in a 12 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 25 logged events

Recording Technician Level I: Pay Rate: $20/hour X billable hours preset per project

  • Advanced live sound experience required
  • Fundamental recording experience required with a minimum 250 hours studio time logged
  • Responsible for basic planning of in-house recording projects.
  • Must be able to set-up and trouble shoot advanced live sound and basic recording projects.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 12 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every ten (10) projects (full 8 track+) logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 10 minutes late for a recording project (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 25 logged projects

Recording Technician Level II: Pay Rate: $25/hour X billable hours preset per project

  • Advanced live sound and recording experience required
  • Fundamental recording experience required with a minimum 1000 hours studio time logged
  • Responsible for planning of in-house recording projects and basic project budgeting.
  • Must be able to set-up and trouble shoot most live sound and recording projects.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 18 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every fifteen (15) projects (full 8 track+) logged
  • Penalty of 1 hour of pay for each 5 minutes late for a recording project (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test
  • Can challenge advancement test after a minimum of 35 logged projects

positions and pay 3Recording Technician Level III: Pay Rate: $30/hour X billable hours preset per project

  • Advanced live sound and recording experience required
  • Advanced mixing & mastering experience required with a minimum 3000 hours studio time logged
  • Responsible for all aspects of in-house recording projects and all project budgeting.
  • Must be able to set-up and trouble shoot all live sound and recording projects.
  • Damaged gear will result in a 18 month freeze on all promotions and pay rate increases.
  • Pay Rate increase of $1/hour for every fifteen (15) projects (full 8 track+) logged
  • Penalty of 2 hours of pay for each 5 minutes late for a recording project (under supervisor discretion)
  • 12 month automatic skill appraisal test

Singer/Songwriter – Solo Act or Duo: Pay Rate: starting at $70 per event

  • Standard Performer Code of Conduct applies
  • All material must be original
  • Responsible for providing stage rider, fully functioning instruments and adequately prepared for event.
  • Must be able to assist in set-up and trouble shooting basic live sound and recording projects.
  • Penalty of $10 for each 5 minutes late for check in time (under supervisor discretion)
  • Pay Rate increase of $10 for every five (5) events logged
  • Qualifies to participate in the ID VIP Team Music Distribution & Marketing Program and receive Pay Rate increase of $1 for every 5 full music albums (units) sold for the year plus your base rate
  • Qualifies for all free workshops, subsidies, scholarships and exchange programs.

Singer/Songwriter – Group Act or Band: Pay Rate: starting at $100 per event

  • Standard Performer Code of Conduct applies
  • All material must be original
  • Responsible for providing stage rider, fully functioning instruments and adequately prepared for event.
  • Must be able to assist in set-up and trouble shooting basic live sound and recording projects.
  • Penalty of $10 for each 5 minutes late for check in time (under supervisor discretion)
  • Pay Rate increase of $10 for every five (5) events logged
  • Qualifies to participate in the ID VIP Team Music Distribution & Marketing Program and receive Pay Rate increase of $1 for every 5 full music albums (units) sold for the year plus your base rate
  • Qualifies for all free workshops, subsidies, scholarships and exchange programs.

All positions are contracted self-employed positions with their own opportunity for profit or risk of loss. Contractors are expected to submit invoices through PayPal and must include the date, location and name of the event for record keeping purposes. Invoices are paid within 14 business days of receipt. By invoicing ID VIP Team you accept the duties of responsibilities of your contract position and the corresponding pay structure for that position.
