We are Affinitry. A alternative/progressive/pop rock band from Saint John New Brunswick Canada. In many cases we\'ve been referred to as \"A breath of fresh air\". Recently we have relocated to Edmonton Alberta to further our career as musicians. In December we released or first EP titled \"The Colour Of Change\" which is currently up for free download on our website as a gift to all of our fans. We are very busy currently working on purchasing merchandise, promoting upcoming shows and of course writing our first full length album all the while maintaining full time jobs until we can play music for a living.
Affinitry began in the basement of percussionist Justin (Turtle) Sproul in late 2013. Turtle and guitarist Jon Shea had a dream to play music infront of millions for a living and were only missing a couple of pieces of the puzzle. With a bit of luck, vocalist Aaron Harrity ironically called Jon knowing him from years ago asking for help in learning music. Timing is everything. After a few short vocal sessions with Jon, the offer was on the table for Aaron to sing with the newly formed band. All that was missing was a bassist. It just so happened that once again the band would stumble upon even more luck when finding the last missing piece. Jeff Zelward, a long time friend of Justins who had recently been in a near death experience (described in the bands song \"Nightmare Part II\") would join the band with a dislocated shoulder and an attitude for success. At first the band was hoping to find a 5th member to play a rhythm guitar however after a few failed attempts due to commitment issues they decided to move forward as four. The drive, loyalty to each other and commitment is the main reason these gentleman are climbing to the top. They are very self driven and have a long-term plan for success.
As the band moves forward with upcoming shows in Edmonton, the future has never looked brighter for these four musicians. A favourite quote from a local Edmonton fan and musician. \"The sound these four gentleman make does not happen over night, they are a definite breath of fresh air. If you don\'t know who they are, you will soon enough\"
