Consilience is an indie rock/dream pop band from Edmonton, Alberta. Multi-instrumentalist Tasy Hudson started performing solo with a guitar, synthesizer and a loop pedal under this name in 2011 and was quick to realize that playing solo is not as fulfilling as playing with a band. Enter: Louis Mendez on lead guitar. He took the songs to a new level with his rocking guitar riffs, and brought his friend Dave McCargar to add some rolling bass lines. Drummer Jeremy West helped the band as it grew over the couple of years playing shows around the city. Jesse Northey (Jesse and the Dandelions) and Aidan Lucas-Buckland (Diamond Mind, The Whitsundays) took over the rhythm section in 2014 as the band promoted their new EP titled “Walking Through a Dead Night EP”, recorded by Jesse Northey at Riverdale Recorders. The EP is a small collection of four songs that give a glimpse of their energetic live shows, described as “all things dusky, dreamy and just a little haunted”. –Amanda Van Oort, All Our Blaring Lights Consilience is currently working on a full-length piano-driven album, with Tasy Hudson performing most of the parts with the help of Jesse Northey and Aaron Parker (Cantoo, Duplekita).
"Consilience will transport you to dream worlds with sophisticated pop tunes that sail smoothly under Tasy Hudson’s hypnotic vocals, often building to powerful crescendos under soaring lead guitar lines." – Kevin Maimann, Edmonton Sun
